The lake district; it’s a name which will undoubtedly ring bells within your mind, but perhaps not for the right reasons. After all, the very idea of holidaying in the country you currently occupy is seen by some to be a step sideways rather than a step forwards, even though there are numerous perks to doing exactly that. Well, if you, like thousands of others in recent times are forward thinking enough to be able to consider lake district hotels as the ideal destination for your next mini break or holiday, then there are tons of rewards awaiting you for your common sense and lack of snobbery. The area is famed for it’s beauty, as well as it’s entertainment and for many, there is no greater location for that perfect holiday than the lake district, but what should you consider before booking into the right lake district hotel for you? Here are a couple of suggestions which should assist you in making the correct choice in terms of hotel.

Firstly, and though we don’t want to sound like a popular channel four property show, location really is key. There are literally hundreds of wonderful lake district hotels to choose from and each will offer you something different, but ensuring that you pick the perfect location for your needs is an important task. From idyllic and rural spots where nature is your neighbour to one of the interesting and historic towns which can be found in the lake district, there are numerous choices available to you.

TOP TIP – Be on the look out for hotels which include the enjoyengland.com seal of approval – e.g. this one taken from the Ellerthwaite Lodge Website

Next up on our check list of things to consider are décor and feel. Not every lake district hotel will cater to your particular tastes, so make sure that you investigate the place online before you book. By doing so you can ensure that you pick a lake district hotel which appeals to your sense of style, be it something a little modern in terms of feel, or perhaps you are seeking a hotel with a more traditional design and atmosphere. Either way, the lakes offer both in equally impressive measures. So, all things considered, as long as you are willing to give the area a try and consider these important facets, a lake district hotel could be the perfect choice for your next holiday and what with the range of them on offer, I found that the Ellerthwaite Lodge was one of the best hotels in the Windermere area and as such have always stayed at this family run hotel as the price and room availability are the best to be had in Cumbria! Before you visit anywhere else – be sure you CLICK HERE to visit the lake district hotel that is the Ellerthwaite Lodge & Bed and Breakfast.

Families across the world ponder during months preceding holiday breaks as to where they want to go to have a new adventure. Some families settle for the humdrum common spots near home that barely push each members cultural boundaries at all. Travelling internationally is obviously the direction that most people take when wanting to embark on a new adventure. But what kind of places are safe enough and not bogged down by common international tourists? While places like Spain, Italy, and France all have rich cultures that definitely need to be experienced in a lifetime, they might lack the unique aspect that a true adventurer would strive for.

Now Tunisia, the northernmost country in Africa, is one of these unique spots that offer a wide range of tourist activities and attractions. Whether it is visiting the metropolitan capital city at Tunis, the Jewish quarters of Jerba, or the most common ancient ruins of the city of Carthage. Still very well preserved, Carthage is a spectacle that everyone should be able to enjoy at some point in his or her life. Walking around the ruins surrounded by either the ocean or the bay is truly out of this world.

So what are you waiting for? If you are looking to get away, try something different, and create memories that your family will never forget, Carthage and the rest of Tunisia is waiting for you. Learn more at sites like tunisiaholidays.org.uk or other domains to help you plan your dream vacation that you never dreamed of!

Do you find the wintertime in northern Europe dull and want to escape to a warmer destination for a few days? The city of Faro on the southern coast of Portugal (better known as the Algarve) may be just the right place for you to spend a few days this winter. Don’t expect intense heat, but with daytime temperatures reaching around 15-17 degrees centigrade, Faro provides the perfect destination for outdoor pursuits such as walking, golf, cycling, wind-surfing and bird-watching.

If you are looking for spectacular scenery, which is ideal for walking and bird-watching then the west of the Algarve is ideal. In wintertime, migrant birds from northern Europe head for the Algarve in search of warmth and food. Lagos is a beautiful port town with plenty of reasonably priced accommodation in the winter.

If you are looking for sandy beaches or golf then head for Vilamoura, Tavira or Albufeira. The latter is the liveliest destination of the 3 in winter. Portugal has some of the best golf resorts in Europe.

Faro Airport is the only commercial airport in the Algarve, and there are cheap flights available in winter from many of the low cost airlines such as EasyJet and RyanAir. The Algarve is a great place for driving, and there are plenty of companies offering car hire from Faro airport.

Are you one of those people who look forward to the ski season to begin? You might make plans to ski the places you love so much and return to the same place over and over. When you are ready for a change, you must check out the winter activities that can be found in Norway.

The Husky Dog Safari is an adventure you must try. Located in Geilo Norway, it is a very popular excursion that will put you on a sled, behind the dog for about two hours. This mini adventure will enlighten you on how winter transport was done for many years on the landscapes of this land. You will meet each dog and try your hand at driving the team prior to your sleigh ride on frozen lakes and through snow covered forests.

Children and adults all enjoy this experience that gives you an amazing view of the resort from high in the hills. Up in this area there is also a wooden tree top walk where you can take part in twenty-nine challenges set up for conquering. Each one has its own difficulty level and when you are done, you can zip line back to the resort.

If you follow boxing then you know that one of the most anticipated fights in the last decade is just days away. The fight between heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye will be a bloody and brutal spectacle between two competitors that have made it very clear that they do not like each other. This will result in a very competitive fight where neither athlete wants to wind up being the loser. It is no wonder that fans are arriving from all over the world because they do not want to miss the fight of the century.

People in Belfast have some options to choose from if they want to go to Hamburg to see the fight. Mostly, they need to decide if they want to get there fast or as cheap as possible. If they want to save some money, then the best way is to go by bus. This will take some time and you will need to change busses a few times, but the price is worth it. You can take a bus from Belfast to London for £51. From there, you will have to take the bus that goes to Brussels. In Brussels you will need to take another bus that will take you to Hamburg. Overall, the entire trip will cost around £135, which is very cheap compared to tickets for airplanes.

Air France is the airline that offers the best prices on tickets form Belfast to Hamburg at $717. However, this flight will require two stops in Paris and Birmingham. BMI offers a flight that leaves Belfast, stops in London and arrives in Hamburg for $919. Finally, British Airways has a flight that also connects in London on its way to Hamburg. A seat in coach for this flight will cost $1,178.

In case you don’t make it to the fight you can watch it online after searching for Haye vs Klitschko live streaming!

If you have ever traveled during the holidays then you know how many others had the same idea. It is typical for family members to want to be together during any holiday. Some will book connecting flights to arrive at their final destination. Holiday travel plans must have reservations made well in advance because flights and car rentals will hit their limit fast.

Depending on which airport you go through, snowy weather can be a problem, leaving many passengers stranded at the airport for hours or days. If you are not comfortable with crowds, then you are the type of traveler who will stay home for holidays or choose to go where everyone is not going.

How about a sunny tropical island for Christmas? Few others will have that thought unless that is where their family is. Seychelles Holidays is where you can find out about these islands that are located in the Indian Ocean. Because these islands are located just below the equator, the air temperatures range between 78 degrees to 83 degrees so you could say there are no extreme weather temperatures found here. If you want to avoid the travel season crowd, now you know where to go.

The name Pas de la Casa translates literally as pass of the house or the house’s pass. It refers to a town, a ski resort as well as a mountain pass located in Andorra. That being said, it is the resort, open for 5 months a year, and its world renowned skiing that attracts travelers.

This mountain resort, located below Pic d’Envalira and within the Grandvalira ski area, has 31 ski lifts which give skiers and snowboarders access to over 60 km of ski slopes within nearly four square miles of snow covered land. The highest peak there is over 8500 feet in altitude, the highest in Andorra. Couple these characteristics with the fact that it has one of the best snow records in Europe, and you get a popular ski haven with lots to offer any level of skier.

Just like many other popular ski places around the world, Pas de la Casa has a nightlife scene that may be just as much fun as being on the slopes. In fact, some travelers head to Pas simply to hang out, without ever even skiing. There is also a duty free shopping scene there with lots of products cheaper than in neighboring France.
