    Heathrow Airport

If you have landed at the Heathrow Airport, then you searched for flights to London and found the best deal.  This airport is located in the London Borough of Hillingdon.  Of all the airports in the United Kingdom, Heathrow is the largest and number five on the list of the busiest airports in the world.
This airport is a primary hub for airlines such as Virgin Atlantic Airways, BMI and British Airways.  It is just located just fourteen miles west of Central London and Queen Elizabeth II herself actually opened terminal five in March of 2008.
North of the airport as the cities of Cranford, Longford, Harlington and Harmondsworth and East is Hounslow and Hatton. South you will find East Bedfont and Stanwell and west is Berkshire and Colnbrook.

Pre 1930, this area that the airport sits on today was a row of isolated cottages before aviation began and World War I then turned this area into a military airfield. Today this airport sees more than ninety airlines and annually there are over sixty-seven million passengers who pass through here. Reduced air traffic was seen after the volcano of Iceland erupted in early 2010 but it still handles more international passengers than any other airport in the world.
